19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's initial championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after March of the previous year.
Victory also means he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.
However the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
